Keyboard shortcuts are always a great help when working on the computer. Simply by learning a few key sequences, we automatically increase our productivity. Of course, not all shortcuts are equally useful, so it’s important to prioritize those that can bring us the most benefit. There are many keyboard shortcuts in Google Chrome, here are some of the most useful ones.
Essential shortcuts
One of the most useful shortcuts in the world is the copy, cut, and paste shortcuts. They are used by Google Chrome as well as almost every other self-respecting program:
- Copy: Ctrl+C
- Cut: Ctrl+X
- Paste: Ctrl+V
- Paste without formatting: Ctrl+Shift+V
When entering text, it is also very useful to know the keyboard shortcuts for bold, italic and underline. These keyboard shortcuts are not specific to Google Chrome, but are used by most web text editors, e.g. B. in e-mail programs, used:
- Bold: Ctrl+B

Sometimes a page can be the wrong size if the font is too small or takes up more than the width of your screen. You may need to zoom in or out on these occasions:

- Zoom out: Ctrl and –
- Zoom in/out: Ctrl+Mouse wheel roll
It has probably happened to you many times that you have closed a document that you just downloaded and it is tedious to access the folder or the download menu in Google Chrome. There is also a keyboard shortcut:
- Downloads: Ctrl+J
It’s also not very convenient to access history unless you know a shortcut:
- History: Ctrl+H
When you’re in a form, you’re just typing with the keyboard. Therefore, it is much more convenient to switch fields with the keyboard than to click on all fields with the mouse. There are three acronyms you should know:
- Continue to the next point: Tab
- Go to previous item: Shift+Tab
- Tick box: spacebar or spacebar
