WhatsApp groups are an ideal way to communicate with many people at the same time. The popular news app allows the merging of up to 256 users in one place to share content, messages or documents. Like regular conversations, groups have an icon or profile picture that you can use to quickly identify them. To change a group’s picture, all you have to do is open WhatsApp, find a group and open it.
Open the group
Then click on the three dots at the top right and tap on Group info.

Click on the current profile picture at the top of the screen. If there is no profile photo, the three-person icon appears on a green background.

From the bottom menu, select the source you want to import a new image from. You can use the gallery, camera or web search to find the perfect icon.

Finally, adjust the image. You can expand it or select a specific area depending on your needs. tap Doneto confirm the change.

In general, each participant can change the group symbol. However, if you are an administrator, you can prevent this. Just go to the Group settingsthat are under the same section Group info are to be found.

Choose the option Only Admins.

From this moment on, only the administrators can change the group’s icon and additional information. Knowing this detail is especially important if you use WhatsApp in a work or educational setting. This ensures that no one can add an unwanted or inappropriate picture as a profile picture.
