Once you’ve applied and been accepted into the YouTube Partner Program , you can start making money on YouTube. You may also qualify for a Shorts bonus under the YouTube Shorts Fund , without being part of the YouTube Partner Program .

  • You do not have to be monetizing YouTube to benefit from the YouTube Shorts Fund. Creators who are members of the YouTube Partner Program and affiliates within the Multi-Channel Network (MCN) are also eligible for funding.

Ways to make money in the YouTube Partner Program

You can earn money on YouTube using the following features:

  • Advertising revenue : You earn ad revenue from display, overlay, and video ads.
  • Channel memberships : Your members regularly pay each month for the special privileges you offer.
  • Product shelf : Your fans can browse and purchase official branded products displayed on your watch pages.

Each feature has its own eligibility requirements beyond the subscriber and view count requirements. If our reviewers decide that your channel or video is not suitable for certain features, you may not be able to use those features. These extra thresholds apply for two main reasons. The most important reason is that we are required to meet legal requirements in each region where the feature is available. In addition, we must have enough context about the channel so that we can reward well-performing creators. This usually means we need more content to review.

Minimum eligibility requirements to enable monetization features

Note that each property has its own terms. You may not be able to use some features due to local legal requirements.

Once accepted into the YouTube Partner Program, you can access the following monetization features:
