First open the chat in which you record a WhatsApp audio want. Then press the microphone icon as usual to create voice notes. It is important that you press and hold the button continuously.
Next, a padlock will appear at the top. Slide your finger away from the microphone button towards the microphone to lock the recording. You can then continue speaking and generating your audio without keeping your finger on the screen.
Lock the recordings
A pause button will appear at the bottom center of the screen. Press to pause recording. This will stop WhatsApp from recording and will not save anything you say from that point forward.
If you want to continue recording sounds, tap the microphone icon that appeared after pausing the recording. This new snippet will be included in the audio file along with the previously recorded one.
When you’re done, you’ll have the option to listen to the voice memo before sending it. This is easily done by tapping the play icon in the top left corner of the recording area. If you are not happy with your audio, you can use the Delete button, represented by a trash can icon. If everything is to your liking, you can send the voice memo with the green paper airplane button.
