Instagram offers a variety of ways to upload personalized photos and videos, either in the feed section (your personal profile) or in temporary stories. With the new updates, the meta app has expanded its possibilities even further. So, in this article, we tell you how set a timer (countdown) in your Instagram Stories can.
What is the Instagram timer?
It’s a feature that you can use as a tag to set a countdown for your photos or videos in Stories. It can’t be used for classic posts or as a timer for taking photos (a feature found on most phone cameras), but simply allows you to set a date with a specific time and countdown until then start.
How to use a timer in Stories
If you want to use this feature, you need to follow the steps below. First, open the Instagram app and in the menu, swipe your finger from the left side of the screen to the right to open the Stories section and post the story you want. You can also select the square with the + at the top of the screen, then click Story.
Upload a story to Instagram
Once inside, take a video or a photo (you can also upload it from your image gallery) and then click on the little face icon with the sticker (top right of the screen, second icon).
Open the Stories options menu
This will open the pane with all available options. Just scroll down until you find the “Countdown” tab and select it.
Choose the countdown day
This will open the timer option. Just change the desired date, enter a title and you can upload it like any other story.

And so, in this simple way, you created a countdown on Instagram that other users can share in their own stories. This creates an attractive and varied temporary contribution.
