When you turn on a device for the first time or factory reset it, it’s common to set up a Google account associated with the device from scratch. You are then automatically signed in to Google Play with this account. So you just have to follow the first steps of configuring your device, in one of them you will be asked for your credentials and you will be automatically logged in to the store.
However, you may skipped this step or that you want to change your account. If that’s the case, you’ll need a Google account to get started. If you don’t already have one, you can create one during this process.
Open your device’s settings menu. You can find it in the Apps section or via the gear icon at the top of the screen that appears when you slide it down.
Access to the settings via the notifications
Look for the section Users & Accounts.
Go to Users & Account
Tap Add Account at the bottom of the screen to add a new account.
Press Add Account
From all the available options in the list that appears, tap Google to set up an account for this service.
Select the Google option
To add the new account, you must first verify the associated email address. If you don’t have one, you can use the option create Account in the lower left corner of the screen.
Enter your Google account address
Next, you need to set a password for your account.
Enter your password
Filling out these fields will sign you directly into your Google account and it will be linked to your phone. This means that you will also be logged in with this Google Play account.
There’s a second way to do this, and it uses Google Play directly. Find the app on your device and open it. Tap the user icon in the top right of the search bar.
Access to the user menu
In the pop-up window, tap on the option “Add another account” and you will be taken to the beginning of the new Google account setup process explained in the previous method, where you will have to choose again between adding an existing account or creating a new one.
Press add another account
