What is lapis lazuli used for in Minecraft?
There aren’t many uses for lapis lazuli. It can be used on the magic board in version 1.8, you can dye wool blue (even by directly painting a sheep), change the collar color of some pets like cats or wolves, or be used as a building material or decorative element in the structures you build.
Combining lapis lazuli with cactus green dye results in cyan dye. A bright dye is also obtained by combining with bone powder from dead skeletons, and a purple one by combining with pink-red dye from red tulip, poppy or beetroot.
How to get lapis lazuli

Blocks of lapis lazuli have small, dark blue specks (not to be confused with diamonds, which are a lighter blue color). It’s a rare mineral. Next you need to start digging. Blocks of this material are found on Level 32 and below, with the highest concentration in Level 19. Look for places with water. There are 4 to 8 lapis lazuli stones per mined block without the need for a kiln.
