Basically, WhatsApp’s vacation mode consists of Disable all group notifications. This feature directly affects archived chats, that is, those that we hide from the main window and return to the top as soon as we receive a new message. Well, in vacation mode, they don’t return to the main window even if messages arrive.
With vacation mode, the chats are hidden until the user decides to reactivate them. The goal of vacation mode is to allow users to take a real break from the conversations of specific groups; something more efficient than silencing cellphone or group notifications. This mode is based on the silent mode already available on Android.
This feature is available in WhatsApp beta for Android via the Pfad Settings > Notifications > Ignore archived chats available . However, it has not yet been definitely implemented in the final versions available to all users.
The fact is that right now everyone is wondering where, when and how Vacation Mode will come to Android (we assume it will come eventually), but for now its arrival seems one of the most welcome developments in the (slow but steady) to be development of WhatsApp.
It is worth remembering that direct competitors such as Telegram (or, without going further, MODs such as GBWhatsApp, which the official version does not like very much) of Appnow owned by Facebook, are far ahead in their development.
